 SERMON:

   THE POWER IN TODAY'S PAIN.

 INTRO : There are countless times we face pains. And there are also countless times we face happiness. There is a lot of good things that we reap from the happiness that we encounter at particular times. And in as much as happiness bears us fruits, pains also have their own fruits for us.

 PROB : We always look at the bad side of the pains we encounter and underlook the possibility of bearing better fruits from the pains that we encounter.

   

 PURP : To enable us understand the fruits of today's pain so as to embrace trials with proper conscience.

   >>> There was a man who had worked so hard to win a game that he participated in. He knew that winning the game will give him a good amount of money that will help him to escape poverty. So he worked so had as if there was no tommorow. It came as if a surprise in a dream when the man won the game. He was dashed with alot of cash that he failed to count it all. He was overwhelmed by what he experienced. He was so happy that he laughed to the top of his spirit. He laughed till he suffocated from within and he died. The money was later enjoyed by the close relatives that he left. So he died from happiness. When we attempt to plant a seed. We select the best of the seeds from the previous harvest. We don't put the seeds in the cleanest place. We throw them to the ground and bury them. The seeds rot and look as if spoilt. But their state shows that they are now ready to make good plants that we desire. They grow from pains. 

 PAIN IS A MUST FOR GROWTH.

 ✴️ 1 Peter 4:12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

 ✴️ 1 Peter 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

     From the Time you become a Christian was the Time you started to carry the cross. As a Christian, you are not supposed to move on smooth grounds to the glory that you look forward to. There should be trials and pain that one has to go through before receiving what they expect.

There has not been a man in the Bible who went from birth to glory from glory. People that we consider our biblical heroes have endured enough of the pain and yet have received their bright side of tommorow. But even like the Bible has said it that now you may suffer for a little while...that means pains are a short term project compared to the joy one has to encounter.

There is not a single growth that has occurred in our earthly realm without having undergone the rules of pain and gain. There are people who may have gotten used to pain in such a way that they don't feel it when they go through it . But whether they feel or they don't, their growth came from a hard to pass through tunnel. 

Your growth tommorow is determined by the pain of today. What you do today is what will become a grown up plant tommorow. Today's actions are like a seed that you plant. 

It is a universal law of no pain no gain. If you want to pass exams as student , you have to read books whether you like it or not. If you want to become a successful investor, you have to throw money where you don't even know it will come back, you have to take time to read the markets whether you feel like or not.

🔶 PAINS PRODUCE ENDURING CHARACTER.

✴️ James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

 ✴️ Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us...

God has created us in such a way that we learn better after encountering the negative side of something. There are lessons we learn without any negative attachment. But there are lessons that we learn after having made the mistake that we will not forget. There are also lessons that we learn after facing the hard side of something. Now, you may not want to hear this but let me say it; the best friend of your life can turn into the greatest lesson of your life. If you are dumped by someone,- the person that you loved most...know that that is the greatest lesson you can learn. I mean you will never ever forget that moment in the whole of your life. Just imagine something that has ever happened to you sometime Back but you still remember the fears and all the emotion that you had at that time. I mean even remembering that makes you feel emotional. That same way it feels is the same way a lesson that is got from tough pains cannot be forgotten. 

You may think that you are having the most terrible experience in life but it may turn out to make you the best teacher of life. 

Don't always feel as if pain is never going to end. We are not created to pass with pains from birth to death. There is a purpose as to why to face the Pains that you face today. The power in today's pain is that it will create in you an unforgettable character of patience. It will create in you an unforgettable character of perseverance. When you encounter lighter challenges, you will know the best buttons to press. Pain is not permanent.

✴️ Psalms 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

The above verse marks a rule in life. It is obvious that happiness follows sorrow. There may be pains this night but happiness will come in the morning.

To produce the best metal, several metals are aligned and hit thoroughly to make stronger concrete. The power in that pain is that the more compact the elements be is the more stronger the metal will be.

 CONCLUSION

⚫ God may be using a tool to hit you and make you compact. Our inward characters are naturally scattered. God brings them together through the hitting. 

⚫ You can be the best of yourself after a thorough processing through everyday pain. 

⚫ Every growth comes from every single pain.
