BROKEN HOUR

Luke 1:18

 Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.” 19 The angel answered, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. 20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time .”

Zechariah and his wife were gone in years. They were not having any child with them as their own. They had prayed for one and somehow given up. Now, an angel came to them with a great promise; they will have a son and will name him John. And that John will do wonders and will be great in the eyes of God . He will also pave way for Jesus that was to be born.
Zechariah well knowing that he was advanced in years doubted the claim. He claimed he can't be sure of this.
To cut his disruptions to God's Devine plans, the angel made him dumb till the plan came to pass. It was a broke hour.

There is something God lets come our way just to pause our souls and let God's plans happen. There is a plan that God sets for you but it may seem too big for you to believe. And that your unbelief could possibly have a negative impact to the plan that God has set. Just to put you aside from God's path , God sets a broken hour...a challenge that puts you into a different mode. 

It is at that point that God is able to reshuffle different elements that will lead you to better place. You may have fallen sick and you are off work; God has seen that the level he is taking you at may need you to develop a character that only works out when you feel sick , bedridden. There is something that is happening to your life not because it is supposed to but because it is a broken hour, a time to reshuffle.
One thing to be sure of is that after such moments, you will be a better person than you were before. If the angel came back again with different news for Zechariah, Zechariah will be quick to believe. He will have understood what believing in unknown is...what blind belief is!
 It shouldn't be in your place to worry when something happens to you. It is in your place to increase belief. Know that it is just a broken hour. There is a time that will come for you to see the goodness of the Lord.
