ACUTE REFLECTION

Psalm 77:11

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

   Moving forward without looking back is a thing that we emphasis in many motivations. We say that you should let the past go and focus on the future. That you should let that that has transpired to be and fix your eyes on the things that are ahead. That looking at the things that are behind will only choke the dreams that are ahead.

Of course that is true. But the looking at what is behind and having the dreams choked is when we look like the Israelites did. Looking and recalling the watermelon that came along even when there was a stroke. Or looking at the grave that were available even when there was stroke and watermelon. It is such a look that is not encouraged and it is one that will choke the dreams.

But there is this romantic "look behind". The lovely reflection on the divine goodness that God has done all the way we started to move with Him. One that we should embrace.
Our loving God has created divine testimonies that we cannot overlook nor say we shouldn't look behind. 

The testimony behind is worthy to look. I survived an accident the other day... though the incident left me with injuries that are healing. But the great work of God's hand can't be forgotten. It is a driver for me daily as I understand how God can protect His own .

Reflect on the past in the light of the works of God. Remember His good deeds even when you were seen as unworthy.
Looking at now and what is lacking is not the testimony. Looking at the miracles of the old and yesterday is the testimony we have.

Craving for the future is one thing I have realized does not end. Even the very rich still have cravings. There can not be a moment where cravings end and the mind is inactive only thriving in gratification. Such a moment is only created by us. Anyway, that was a by- the- way. Our point starts from here. The future does not hold the roots but the past does. The roots are not from the sky but are from where the tree started. What makes the tree strong are the roots .  What makes the future strong are the roots. They are the past. You cannot know where you should go unless you know where you came from. It is easier to move in a group than to move alone. Standing for the right is harder nowadays than it was those days. Not because the governments have become more ruthless than they were those days, but because powerful governments of social influence have arisen than they were those days.
